Design Manager
I oversee project work and day-to-day design and CAD engineering related operations. I also liaise with other MARL departments and manage the workloads and responsibilities of the design engineers for both MARL and customer-specific projects, ensuring all activities are carried out on time and within budget.
15 years.
I graduated with an Electronics Degree from university; however, I do have a general engineering background through college and early university years and am involved in both mechanical and electronic design work at MARL on PCB and CAD software. I enjoy the challenge of converting a customer's requirement into the most optimal solution with the best selection of housing, LEDs, PCB, drivers, thermal management and optics into the total package.
The family atmosphere, with friendly and helpful colleagues. There is interesting and varied project work across diverse industries, and big variation in work and design opportunities. I enjoy the challenge of designing energy efficient and reliable LED lighting solutions, as well as the ability to see projects through from concept to production.
I love Formula 1, watching documentaries about history, sports, engineering and space, as well as relaxing in the back garden on a sunny day.
I don’t have a favourite song in particular, but Fleetwood Mac’s " Gypsy" is a good one.

I got a black belt in karate when I was 18.
