It’s just a natural course of life where you finish school or college and start your working career.  Graham’s working career started in 1974 as an apprentice toolmaker and over the following few years, he learnt the trade.

In 1985, having fully qualified as a precision toolmaker and mechanical engineer, Graham started working at MARL as the Engineering Manager.  Graham started in charge of the Drawing office with a brief to start a new toolroom and machine shop to start manufacturing production assembly tooling and product component parts.

In 1995 a memorable project was Graham being sales lead to the EMI Records application where MARL was contracted to design, manufacture and supply over 2 million flashing red LEDs to the new Pink Floyd Album called “Pulse”. This was very rewarding, as the music industry was completely different to the traditional market sectors we were used to.

Graham stated “I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time at MARL and I’ve met some great people along the way. I’ve been involved in many great projects and I’m proud of what we have achieved together.  I’ve done a lot of worldwide travelling over my career, met some great people, had a few laughs and seen parts of the world I’d like to visit again”.

“Lucky me to have had this great job that never felt like a job”.

Graham has no great plans in the future other than looking forward to a new chapter in his working career, yet unknown.  Maybe spending a little more time with his family and friends, visiting a few Formula 1 race meetings,  also planning a cruise around Norway to visit the Fjords and experience a slower life away from business.

Graham would like to thank everyone who has worked alongside him and supported him, both on a professional and personal level, over the last 38 years.

“Thank you for having me nd it’s now time to say goodbye…

Graham..."
