When it comes to film & broadcasting, lighting is of paramount importance. Much like the human eye, cameras work by capturing light and so the best results – and flexibility in camerawork - happen when there is sufficient light of sufficient quality to represent the scene clearly and accurately.
To help creative directors to represent their vision and imagination as intended, standards such as the Colour Rendering Index (CRI) and Television Lighting Consistency Index (TLCI) have been devised, indicating how well a light source represents the full colour range of a subject. High CRI and TLCI scores provide assurance that the colours are being shown accurately, allowing for the best possible footage with less post-production editing.
A very popular example of such lighting is our Yuji Flexistrip range, part of our wider range of enhanced CRI R9 technology. The flexistrips take the range of TM-30 rated SMD (surface mount) LEDs and build them into flexible 3M®-adhesive strips and multi-row flexible panels that can be installed on a variety of linear and curved surfaces.

With their high CRI R9 ratings and TLCI compliance, they are ideal for film and broadcast lighting - in fact they are already bought, used and loved by major film studios by the kilometre!
The flexistrip range includes varieties in tuneable white, RGB+white hybrid, daylight simulation and fixed colour temperatures of white, suiting any creative need. IP67 waterproof versions and multirow flexible panels are also available.
